Car park to get CCTV to cut crime
A car park in Staffordshire is being given a makeover costing £250,000 to try to reduce crime.
The Midway multi-storey in Newcastle town centre will have improved lighting and 30 CCTV cameras installed.
The cameras are being fitted with technology to tell Staffordshire Police if they see a car connected to motoring offences at the site.
The car park will be re-painted to remove graffiti. The improvements are being funded by the borough council. Story from BBC NEWS:
